Why Choose an Official AMP Hotel?

onPeak is the official housing providers for the AMP 2017 Annual Meeting. We recognize that attendees have many options with area hotels and that you may be looking only at the per night cost in making your decision. However, we encourage you to take a few minutes to understand the importance of selecting an official AMP hotel and the other factors beyond the per night rate.

AMP has a long history of consistently fulfilling the minimum number of room nights to be sold according to our contracts with the hotels. This history yields significant benefits for meeting attendees and AMP. However, the presence of numerous hotels in the annual meeting city could make it difficult for AMP to assure that attendees and exhibitors will choose to stay in an official AMP Hotel and thereby more challenging to negotiate favorable hotel contracts.

What does this mean for you?

  • When we are able to maintain a consistent history of hotel rooms sold, it helps us negotiate the lowest hotel rates possible for future AMP meetings.
  • To obtain the necessary amount of meeting and exhibit space at the Convention Center and the hotels, AMP must commit to a minimum number of guest rooms. If that commitment is not met, AMP will incur significant financial penalties and have difficulty obtaining sufficient meeting space in the future. This can have a major impact on the programs that AMP is able to offer in the future. You can help avoid penalties by booking your reservation in the AMP block.
  • AMP's hotel contracts protect you. Booking within the AMP hotel block gives us the opportunity, if the need does arise, to assist you with any hotel problem you may experience while at the meeting. When you choose other hotels we have no contacts or leverage to help rectify a problem or inconvenience that you may have encountered.

Alert

If you are contacted by any company other than onPeak claiming to have rooms at lower rates at the official hotels for AMP, do not book your reservation through them or give them credit card information. These companies do not have any agreements or a block of rooms with the AMP hotels. Typically, guests who fall prey to such schemes arrive at their destination to find that no reservation exists, or that it had existed at one time but has been canceled at the last minute (leaving the guest both without a room and liable for a cancellation fee). Additionally, by giving a credit card number to such companies, attendees give up their ability to dispute any wrongful charges. onPeak is the only official housing company for the AMP 2017 Annual Meeting. Make sure you look for the offical onPeak Official Housing Stamp (pictures above) when booking your room.
